Our undergraduate programmes deepen students understanding of theory & practice in multiple English disciplines, preparing them for a range of professional careers continued study & engaged civic participation.<\/p>\n

The department of English in Arts & Commerce college. soygaon is established in 2003. Whether students want to become a writer, teacher or expert multi-media communicator, majoring\u00a0\u00a0 in Arts & Commerce College.\u00a0 soygaon will open many doors to the students\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 future \u2013 one’s students may not\u00a0\u00a0 have even\u00a0\u00a0 considered\u00a0\u00a0 yet. In literature classes\u00a0\u00a0 students will be challenged to consider\u00a0\u00a0 matters of broad human significance. In\u00a0\u00a0 creative writing exposition &\u00a0\u00a0 journalism classes students will develop\u00a0\u00a0 their\u00a0\u00a0 talent\u00a0\u00a0 for expressing ideas & emotion.<\/p>\n

The English language & literature course in our college is one of the broadest\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 spheres giving students\u00a0 \u00a0the chance to study writing in English from its origins\u00a0\u00a0 in Anglo-Saxon England to\u00a0\u00a0 the present. As well as British literature, students can study\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 works written\u00a0\u00a0 in English from\u00a0\u00a0 other\u00a0\u00a0 parts of the\u00a0\u00a0 world & some originally written in other\u00a0\u00a0 languages, allowing students\u00a0\u00a0 to think about literature in English in multilingual\u00a0\u00a0 & global contexts across\u00a0\u00a0 time. The course allows students considerable\u00a0\u00a0 degree\u00a0\u00a0 of choice, both in developing students’ personal interests across\u00a0\u00a0 core paper.<\/p>\n

Studying\u00a0\u00a0 literature at our college\u00a0 \u00a0involves the development\u00a0\u00a0 of sophisticated reading skills & of an ability to place\u00a0\u00a0 literary\u00a0\u00a0 text in their wider\u00a0\u00a0 intellectual\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 & historical context. It also requires\u00a0\u00a0 students to consider\u00a0\u00a0 the critical processes by\u00a0\u00a0 which student analyze & judge to learn about literary criticism, theory\u00a0\u00a0 & to study the development\u00a0\u00a0 of the English\u00a0\u00a0 language.<\/p>\n

In first \u00a0\u00a0year, students will be introduced to the conceptual & technical\u00a0\u00a0 tools used in the study of language & literature. At the same time to acquaint students to the basics of phonology of English & to enhance the job potential of students by improving their language skills.<\/p>\n

In the second-year students will be able to extend their study by familiarizing with the various components of language to enhance their awareness regarding aesthetics of Drama & Poetry independently.\u00a0 These papers are assessed by Choice \u2013based credit system \u2013 70: 30 patterns.<\/p>\n

Alternatively in the third-year students will be able to keep pace with the age of technology& to empower the learners for the present as well as the student by studying & appreciating novel can develop their interpretative abilities & enhance their analytical skills at the same time students will be able to aware about the basics of literary criticism & the age wise important critical concepts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
