Department of Political Science
Introduction
Department of Political science a major department of the arts Faculty. This department is started two decades before in 2004. to impart single major course in Political science. S.Y.B. A. & T.Y.B. A. Special subject started from in academic year 2004 – 2005. Since Inception the department in quite achieve in maintaining a harmonious balance between the staff and students of the department and inculcate civic culture and healthy political values in the mind of our students. The department of political science is one among the few departments of the college to produces more than 90% of result in B.A. political science examination conducted by the Savitribai Phule University Pune.
The Department along with its regular teaching achieves under takes various other co-curricular activates to sensitize our students toward several socio- economic and political issues confronted by the nation from time to time. All the activates of the Department are planned in such a manner to achieve the basic vision and mission of the college.
Mission, Aims and Objectives of the Department
Mission:
The study of political science at Mission College involves not only the examination of the structure of government and political systems but the examination of the interaction of individuals and institutions within those systems. These courses offer valuable insight into these events on the local, state, national, and international levels and they also encourage involvement of the citizenry.
AIMS:
Leaving Certificate Politics and Society aims to develop the learner’s capacity to engage in reflective and active citizenship, informed by the insights and skills of social and political sciences.
OBJECTIVE:-
- To support the students in their learning process.
- To create the general awareness about political System among the students.
- To inculcate human values like democracy,equality and fraternity.
- To makethe students aware of social justice.
- Introduce students to administrative services and guide them to join administrative service

- Every Year on 25th January the Department celebrates the voter’s Day for to create awareness among the students.
